PRIVATE HOUSE
VILLA MARCEL
Program: 5 bedrooms villa with pool and outbuildings
Mission : General design ESQ, APS, APD, PC, PRO DCE + VISA
Location: Anse des Cayes, St Barthelemy
Status: Delivery April 2022
Budget : 3 M€
Surface : 320 m2

Villa Marcel is a luxury residential project located in the hills of Anse des Cayes on the island of St Barthélemy. The project comprises five bedrooms with underground parking and a swimming pool.

The project rests on a foundation dressed with stone, which supports multiple bungalows built of wood and inspired by traditional island cottages. Designed with double orientation, the bungalows house the bedrooms as well as common spaces. The foundation and the bungalows are linked by a thin strip of concrete, like a razor blade, to create shadows and optical illusions that play with the proportions of the buildings. The swimming pool is conceived as if a block of stone that meets the same goal.

The different levels are articulated by patio located at the back of the project for vertical circulation along a fountain, adding double-height volumes. The ensemble allows for large common spaces, covered or not, with terraces, gardens, and patios to create an individual microclimate in each area. The result is a series of spaces that are well-ventilated and enjoyable throughout the entire day for the wellbeing of the residents.
