PIRVATE HOUSE
VILLA D’ORSAY
Program: Renovation and extension of a villa
Scope: Full-service mission, including design, planning, and construction supervision
Architect : Bruneau Ghezzi Architectes
Interior Architect : STIGEN PARTERNS
Location: Pointe Milou, St Barth
Status: Construction in progress
Area: 173 m²
Villa d’Orsay envisions itself as a jewel where stone and wood dance harmoniously with the elements, nestled in the enchanting landscape of “Pointe Milou” in Saint-Barthelemy. This energy-efficient and aesthetic renovation reimagines an existing villa while preserving its volumes, transforming it into an elegant living space inspired by the spirit of a Caribbean loft. Conceived as an exceptional secondary residence, it stretches across two levels along the slope, housing three bedrooms and featuring an infinity pool that seems to merge with the sea and horizon.
Born of concrete, the villa is cloaked in natural stone and wood, a second skin that blends seamlessly with its surroundings. Irregular, open, and vertical wooden cladding gracefully elevates the facades. A delicate stone plinth highlights the façade, illuminating the interplay of wood as night falls.

The roof, adorned with wooden tiles, gives the structure a soft and organic silhouette. The joinery, frames, and corners, finely crafted in anodized aluminum that interacts with the light, are added like embroidery, creating a subtle dialogue with the noble primary materials: stone and wood.
The entrance opens onto a bioclimatic patio, where nature becomes an ally. This patio, both serene and functional, orchestrates the spatial layout and creates natural convective ventilation, enhancing the comfort of its inhabitants. It becomes the vibrant heart of the home, elevating the connection between its residents and the environment.

A product of an alchemy between tradition and modernity, this project is the result of an inspired collaboration between BRUNEAU GHEZZI ARCHITECTES and STIGEN PARTNERS. Villa d’Orsay is much more than a living space; it is a dream shaped into matter, a meeting point between humanity and nature.
