This project involves the creation of a family home enclosed in a narrow plot within a relatively dense and steep fabric of the Merlette neighborhood.
It is composed of two separate units allowing for the creation of a protected garden, a true microclimate regulated by architecture and vegetation. It also enables the house to benefit from intimate outdoor living spaces. The two-level superposition, as integrated into the slope, frees up natural ground, facilitating the development of a more generous central garden and secondary gardens at the back of the plots.
The garden, with its pool, becomes an additional room of the house, where the two built modules and vegetated fences seem to erase the presence of neighbors, reinforcing both intimacy and conviviality.
All living volumes are designed to be walk-through, seeking ventilation and natural comfort while offering long perspectives throughout the entire plot. The combination of raw natural materials such as local stone or wood, alongside railings evoking local vegetation, accompanied by a modest design, underlines an aesthetic grounded in the scale of the domestic hearth, bodily comfort, and the relationship with nature and the surroundings.

Ce projet consiste en la création d’une maison familiale qui s’insère sur une parcelle étroite, dans un tissu relativement dense et pentu du quartier de Merlette.
La composition en 2 unités séparées permet de fabriquer un jardin protégé, véritable microclimat régulé par l’architecture et la végétation. Elle permet d’intimiser les espaces de vie extérieurs. La superposition sur deux niveaux s’insérant dans la pente libère le sol naturel permettant de développer un jardin central plus généreux et des jardins secondaires en fond de parcelles.
Le jardin avec sa piscine devient une pièce additionnelle de la maison, dans laquelle les deux modules bâtis et les clôtures végétalisées semblent faire oublier le voisinage, renforçant intimité autant que convivialité.
L’ensemble des volumes de vie sont traversant à la recherche de ventilation et de confort naturel tout en offrant de longues perspectives à travers toute la parcelle.
L’alliance de matériaux naturels brut, telle que la pierre locale ou du bois, les gardes corps évoquant la végétation locale accompagner d’un design sobre souligne une esthétique fondée sur l’échelle du foyer domestique, le confort du corps et la relation a la nature et au contexte environnant.
