NOUVEAU PROJET
This project comprises a two-bedroom primary residence with a rental studio. Located in the hills of Anse des Cayes, at the foot of a cliff, the project benefits from unobstructed views of the bay in Anse des Cayes and is inspired by traditional local architecture and its lifestyle. Typical elements include four-sided peaked roofs, direct access to exterior spaces, and separate buildings that recall the fragmented implantation of Creole cottages. With major exposure to the wind, this fragmentation offers the project protection to withstand the exceptional winds of a hurricane.
The project is designed to maximize exterior spaces and emphasize a relationship to nature. The primary living spaces have double orientation so that openings allow the natural ventilation of the rooms to be regulated, while taking advantage of their access to the outside. The terraced roofs with vegetation add an extra layer of insolation as well as integration of the structures into the landscape.
